Reserving the Right to Refuse Service.

Well, I hate to do this, but the sign is going up guys. Until now, we have always had such charming, kind, and witty customers. We all at Cheeky have always found it a pleasure to serve you with the best of our ability. But today I was witness to the tail end of something so hideous; it made my chest burn with anger and disgust. How can a human being be so malicious to another person? We already know that this petite dark haired lady was unkind from her previous visit. What I saw today was my poor Jessy with big tears streaming down her usually cheerful face looking at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen. What really broke my heart was she was still trying to smile to reassure us that she was okay. That broke all our hearts. We all work as a family at Cheeky and when someone uses crude language and down right abusive words to break and belittle one of us, then we’ve got a problem. If we’ve known about it before the lady left then she might have been served a can of “na-ah no you didn’t” and it’s not going to be tasty like Spam. I keep asking myself how can a person be like that? How does someone become that? And then I realized that I can’t change people who see no fault in themselves, but I can sure as heck try to protect my Cheeky Family (y’all included :) ) from pseudo-human beings like that. So, when you come by the restaurant know that we are not just in the business to fill your tummies, but we are also in it to create a safe and comfortable refuge for all our wonderful customers from the people that make the, what can be, pristine world dingy. Before I go, I just want to thank you all for your loyal support and always being so kind to us and just being good ol’ you :) . I hope this update does not leave a bad taste in your mouth, but I really do just want to stress that we will not tolerate anyone being nasty, whether it is to staff or customer, in our restaurant. Anyways, if you are in the neighborhood, please stop by and give Jessy a hug. She needs one. :) Thanks again, guys. Enjoy the wonderful weather we’re having! Happy Mother’s Day! Don’t go over to the dark side!

Had the pleasure of a delightful lunch with some out-of-town guests at Cheeky’s, just the once, and enjoyed it so much I made a point of hooking up online so I could find you again. Hope to be back some day. Meanwhile, please give Jessy a big attagirl hug for me. Kudos to you all for your wonderful food and atmosphere…the company of people who are good to be with. God bless.

My wife just got a gift card for your restaurant today. We seldom go out to eat, but looking over your website and menu makes it a place to look forward to visiting. Probably this summer. I hope you do not have any more problems with unpleasant customers–or at least not many. We may try to visit with our extended family sometime. Thanks for having a fun restaurant and caring about your guests and employees.

OMG that’s TERRIBLE!!!! All your staff is so amazingly kind and helpful, I want to punch in the nose whoever made your server cry! I visit you guys at least weekly and have ALWAYS been so touched by what a kind, comfortable, and family friendly atmosphere you have, as well as super kind and cheerful staff. I think anyone who is mean at restaurants is inherently unhappy and miserable, and they take it out on whoever is forced to pay attention to them for a few minutes. I worked in a restaurant for 4 years, and I think anyone who eats out should have to work in the food industry for some time. Customers can be the worst! (But some of us are the BEST!!:) Up with the sign!!! Down with the mean little lady!!!
    My best:)

Our family is on its way in this morning. I always appreciate it when a business does its best to keep its employees (Family) and customers safe. I am so sorry that you had to deal with anyone like that and hope that Jessie is ok.

Thanks you to everyone for all the kind words. It makes me really happy to see that there are so many kind and beautiful people out there like you. It sounds corny, but you guys rock! I wish nothing but happiness and love to you all.
